The fastest land-bound creature is a cheetah, which can travel at speeds of 109.4 km/h (68.0 mph) to 120.7 km/h (75.0 mph). The peregrine falcon is the fastest bird, and the fastest member of the animal kingdom, with a diving speed of 389 km/h (242 mph). The fastest animal in the sea is the black marlin, with a recorded speed of 129 km/h (80 mph).

The Puffer Fish

Puffer fishes have a cute look to them. They even look kind of silly and harmless when they’re all big and blown up – but don’t let that deceive you. Puffer fishes are actually very, very dangerous… But even with that fact being well known, people still eat them. When eating a puffer fish you have to make sure to cut them in a particular way, because if you don’t, you could be eating straight up poison. That’s because the puffer fish’s body contains a very dangerous toxin known as tetrodoxin. If you get that into your body, you can have issues with speech and coordination while experiencing a tingling sensation. That can also lead to convulsions, paralysis, and eventually even death.

Brazilian Wandering Spider

We all know to stay away from spiders. If the eight legs and eyes aren’t enough to keep you away from them, then knowing that they can kill you should. While some spiders look scary and aren’t harmless, there are some that are scary and are super harmful. That’s the perfect way to describe the Brazilian wandering spider. It has a rather sweet nickname – the banana spider. But don’t let the nickname fool you, because if this spider wants to kill you, it can and it will. Packed with a load of venom, this spider was labelled as the most venomous animal in the world by the Guinness World Book of Records in 2007. That should tell you everything you need to know about this thing. If the spider doesn’t kill you, it can also cause paralysis.

The Death Stalker Scorpion

If the name didn’t tell you everything you need to know, then let this be a warning to you: stay away from the death stalker scorpion. Most scorpions should be avoided in general, but this one should be at the top of your list. And why is that exactly? Well, it has a venom so strong that it not only causes discomfort and swelling, but it also cause respiratory failure. If you have heart problems and allergies, then you’ll quickly fall victim to this scorpion if it attacks you. This scorpion takes no prisoners and it should be left alone if stumbled upon. It can usually be found in North Africa and the Middle East, and while its translucent colour might make you think its not that dangerous, you shouldn’t let appearances fool you.

The Stonefish

When getting into the water, there’s a few things to avoid. Sharks and jellyfish seem to be the most common creatures to stay away from, but what about fish? You might be thinking that there aren’t any dangerous fish wandering around in the ocean, but then you must not know about the stonefish. Not only cane this fish camouflage in with the watery surroundings it lives in, but it carries toxins that can cause all kinds of issues. Some of these issues include paralysis, shock, and death. While there are treatments for the stonefish’s poison, victims need to get their hands on it quickly, because the venom works fast. Since most people are in the water when they get attacked, that isn’t exactly an easy task.

The Blue-Ringed Octopus

This is one of those animals that you don’t think can really take your life, and that’s because it’s just so dang small. When we think of killer animals we think of lions and sharks, not animals that we can fit in the palm of our hands. But you might want to avoid doing that with the blue-ringed octopus – in fact, you should stay away from it at all costs. Just because you can fit in the palm of your hand, does not mean that it won’t kill you. It’s considered one of the most dangerous creatures to live in the ocean, and not only can it kill you, but it can also cause you to go blind. Venom from this octopus can also give you nausea, and the chance of paralysis is also high. In fact, this octopus is so strong that it has enough toxins in its body to kill almost thirty people – that’s a lot of poison for one tiny, little animal.

SUMMARY
- The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name!

- If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail!
- If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you - raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon.
- Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming.
- Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart.
- Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating.

10 Dangerous Animals You Should Run Away From

The world is filled with millions of species of animals. Some of them are quite harmless, quietly living
their lives, while some of them are just downright dangerous. Today we will be looking at 10 of the most
dangerous animals that you should run away from. Make sure you stay tuned, and stay away from
number one. The number of fatalities these animals cause is simply staggering.

Number 10. Sharks
We’re not talking about an individual species of shark; we are lumping the entire family in as a whole.
Movies and media are often spreading the picture of sharks being ferocious killers that eat and destroy
everything that comes in their way, but it’s quite exaggerated and many shark species are harmless to
humans.
Each year, there are around 75 shark attacks, whereas most arise from a misunderstanding that a surfer
looks similar to seals. However, only 10 out of these attacks result in the death of the victim.
With that said, of course, sharks, especially the Great White and Bull sharks are incredibly powerful
predators that should always be respected, but they don’t really see humans as food. So, if you’re
scared of sharks, don’t think of them as the monsters killing thousands of people each year because that
is not true.

Number 9. Ants
It’s quite counter intuitive to think that ants are more dangerous animals than sharks. But the fact is that
they are. While sharks cause the average if 10 fatalities yearly, triple that number for ants. 30 casualties
every year are attributed to ant attacks.
One particular species to take note of is the bulldog ant. This red, angry-looking variety of ant is one of
the largest and most aggressive species of ants on the planet. They have large mandibles and venomous
stings that, in humans, causes intense pain, the worst of any insect sting, that can last for several days.
They are so aggressive that whenever this ant is cut in half, the head and the tail will actually fight and
try to kill each other.
Another one worth mentioning is the bullet ant. They are is known to have one of the most painful
stings. It is found in South America and is also known as the 24-hour ant because of the pain you feel for
up to 24 hours after being stung. Some victims even describe being stung by this ant as painful as being
shot with a bullet.

Number 8. Bees and Wasps
In truth, bees and wasps should have landed higher in our list of the most dangerous animals in the
world. The problem is, nobody in the world is actively keeping track of fatalities attributed to them. In
the US alone, 50 people per year succumb to bee and wasp attacks. For all we know, that number could
balloon to 500 if we include worldwide attacks.

Case in point is the Japanese Giant Hornet. Every year up to 40 deaths are recorded by the sting of
Japanese hornet. The venom of Japanese Hornet would cause an allergic reaction and dissolve tissues
within the short time. The repeated stinging from the group of Hornets could also result in death.
Japanese hornets are very aggressive and fearless. One hornet alone is more than capable of dispatching
40 individual bees all by its lonesome, but these guys rarely operate alone. Each colony of Japanese
Hornet contains up to 700 members. They feed on honey bee larvae to a significant amount.

Number 7. Deer
You wouldn’t think it, but deer are actually quite dangerous creatures. In fact, the yearly worldwide
average of deer related fatalities is at least 300 people. But how come these normally docile creatures
be the cause of so many deaths?
Well, deer have horns and you might think that these would be the main cause of human fatalities. But
that’s very wrong. Yes, admittedly, there have been recorded cases of fatal deer horn impalement but
that’s very rare and far in between. The latest one being a man in Arkansas who was gored to death by a
deer he shot and thought was already dead only in October of this year.
With that said, the vast majority of deer related fatalities happen when deer cross the road, usually at
dusk or at dawn. Couple that with a sleepy driver then we have a definite recipe for disaster. In the US
alone, over 150 cases are reported each year of people running over deer on the highway, with very
tragic results.

World’s 10 Biggest Animals of all Time

Welcome back to another video about animals! We just can’t get enough of them and there are always new things to learn about the animal kingdom. Whether big or small, scary or cute, passive or aggressive, animals can be studied in many different ways, so I hope you’re ready to learn more about them.

In today’s video I’ll be introducing you to the World’s “10 Biggest Animals of All Time” Maybe you’ve already watched the video about the 10 biggest animals in the world, and if you haven’t - you should check it out! But today’s video will focus on the ten biggest animals of all time, which means, we will include animals that are already extinct - at least that’s what we believe! Stay with me all the way to number one and find out if the biggest animal of all time is one that still exists today or perhaps a new one.

Let’s begin.

Paraceratherium

I think some of you were surprised when the elephant wasn’t included in the world’s biggest animals! Well, today I’m giving you something bigger than the elephant. And it’s not the mamut. I’m talking about the paraceratherium, which holds the title of being the largest land mammal that has ever lived. They were about 7 meters tall, which makes them taller than modern day giraffes, and they weighed between thirty-three and forty-four thousand pounds. This makes them almost three times heavier than the heaviest elephants we have today. Just like elephants, they were not an immediate threat to other animals or humans because they were herbivores. But with a size that big, I’m sure they were intimidating and kept predators at a distance. It seems like they went extinct when the landscapes in Central Asia started to transform, making it hard for the paraceratherium to find the means to survive. I wonder what it would have been like to see one of these in the wild. I’m sure we would have been able to spot them from very far away.

Whale Shark

And here is one that we previously saw on the biggest animals in the world: The Whale Shark.
So let me refresh (or introduce you to) some facts about this impressive animal. First of all, the whale shark is the largest fish in the world! That’s right, although its name implies otherwise, this animal is not a whale, but it’s a fish. The name is a reference to its massive size and if you haven’t seen one yet, you’d probably think it’s a whale. They can reach a size of 14 meters long and can weigh up to 41,000 pounds. They are known for having long lives, some of them make it to 150 years!

With their enormous size, they could easily reign in the underwater world - especially when they move across the major oceans. However, they’re filter feeders, which means that they mainly eat plankton and small fish that get caught in their big mouths. They are quite friendly and sometimes they can be spotted swimming with humans!

Leedsichthys

While the whale shark is the largest fish in today’s world, it is not the largest fish in history! There’s a fish that was larger and that’s the leedsichthys, but it’s actually not far from the size of whale sharks. Earlier estimates stated that a leedsichthys could be about 27 meters long. However, later studies have shown that they might have been only 16 meters long, which is still a bit bigger than the whale sharks, but not for that much. Also, they were heavier, weighing about 43,000 pounds. And just like the whale shark, the leedsichthys was also a filter feeder, eating plankton, shrimp, jellyfish and any small creature that got stuck in its mouth. I wish we had the leedsichthys today, but at least we still have the whale shark, which is close enough!
